Welp, he thought, he'd fucked up two relationships within hours of each other. Things weren't great at hime, but he had faith he could get Fawn to come round.

Fin was another story.

John sent flowers to his hotel with a simple note that said sorry I'm an asshole. Once he got the notification it had been delivered, he waited a bit, then texted Fin.

"It's better than it looks," Fin promised.

"I'll trust you," he nodded and took a slice. It wasn't bad. It actually really wasn't bad.

"Huh. I'll be damned," he said.

"I've got better taste than you give me credit for," Fin smiled, all charm and sweetness for a moment.

[petty_dabbler]

"You like me. Your taste isn't as great as you think it is," he teased, his eyes crinkled merrily.

"Nah, that's just proof it's spot on," Fin teased.

John snorted softly and then devoured his pizza. He watched Fin as he ate. Simply took in the sight of him.

He had to talk to Fawn. If he could never be with Fin again he'd go mad.

"Tell me what you've been up to while I've been in LA," the fae said, eager to hear what he'd missed out on. "You know, other than Demon sex."

[petty_dabbler]

"Other than demon sex? Y'know, pissing people off, drinking too much...the usual," he shrugged. "I took care of a zombie house cat. THat was more exciting than it should have been."

"A house cat belonging to a zombie, or a cat that was a zombie?" Fin asked, looking puzzled.

[petty_dabbler]

"Housecat that turned into a zombie," he said. "Little Pet Semetary thing going on. In her defense, the girl didn't know she was burying the cat on a cursed Roman grave."

"...Is the cat okay?" Fin asked, looking a bit worried and upset.

[petty_dabbler]

"The cat was bloody dead," John chuckled. "Dead before it went in the ground. And it's dead again, and back in the ground where it belongs."

"Poor cat," Fin frowned, his empathy genuine.

[petty_dabbler]

"Yeah. Poor cat," John repeated, a little amazed that that was what Fin hung onto.

"Anyway, that and sharking darts. That's it."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Sounds like an alright time, hmm?" Fin smiled. "Keeping busy, at least. You home a lot with him then?"

[petty_dabbler]

"As much as I can be. But Manny visited. He's an angel. Told me to get my ass back to work. So I work," he shrugged.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"And how does fawn feel about that?" Fin pressed.

[petty_dabbler]

"I think he'd rather I stay home, but that's how it is," he shrugged.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"And he mostly stays home?" Fin asked curiously.

[petty_dabbler]

He has been. He likes to wander, but he got stabbed so now he doesn't go as far," John said, as if that was remotely normal.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"He was attacked?" Fin asked. "By another fae, or....?"

[petty_dabbler]

"Some fucker didn't like how he looked girly that day," he said.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"That's awful, I'm really sorry to hear it," Fin replied softly.

[petty_dabbler]

"He's alright."

He paused.

"Poor son of a bitch died, though. That's what he gets, I guess."

"Did he kill him?" Fin asked bluntly.
