John was coming back after a night at the pub. He definitely didn't want to run into Bond. That creepy motherfucker was always prowling the halls at night. He made his way in through a secret passage and came out from behind a tapestry. Just down the hall he heard voices and tried to keep out of sight. But he recognized Wyn's voice and took a peek.

And saw two of them.

"What in the bloody hell?" he asked, coming toward the pair.

"I'm just saying... It could be beneficial if we don't reconnect right away," the second Wyn pointed out.

"And what, tell people you're my brother? Get you enrolled somehow?"

"No, god no, we don't want to both go to classes... I could just be a visiting brother?" the second Wyn insisted.

They both froze at the sound of John's voice, the second holding his suitcase tightly.

They exchanged a glance, and then the first Wyn smiled. "Sorry, I know we're out late. ...My brother's flight ran late."

"You have a brother?" John asked, looking between the two. They looked exactly the same.

"Twins. I'll be damned. I'm professor Constantine. Call me John," he said, offering his hand.

Name. Name. Name... Fuck, what was their other name.

"Dafydd," the second Wyn said, going with their middle name as he took the offered hand.

[petty_dabbler]

"Good to meet you," he smiled, then looked to Wyn.

"You really shouldn't be out. Bond will catch you. Come along. As long as you're with me you won't get in trouble."

The pair exchanged a glance, then followed along.

Wyn was nervous, but Dafydd seemed confident as he followed along.

They were so going to get caught out.

John started toward the dorms, but his rooms were closer.

"Want to pop by for a cuppa? Decompress from your travels?" John offered. He was just a bit tipsy and in a good mood. A good enough mood he didn't notice anything amiss.

The pair exchanged another glance, and Wyn was mistaken when he assumed they were on the same wavelength when he said, "We shouldn't."

Only to hear 'Dafydd' say, "That would be lovely."

John smiled and changed course toward his rooms.

"So you're in for a visit? How long are you staying?" he asked, looking to Wyn and flashing him a sweet, boyish smile.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Two weeks, then I'm off again," Dafydd said, charmed as always by that smile. "Isn't that right, Wyn?"

"...Yeah, two weeks," Wyn nodded awkwardly.

"Two weeks? Exams are coming up, Wyn," John reminded him.

"Hmm. Are you two sharing the room or do you need accommodations?" he asked as he passed his hand over his door and let them into his rooms.

"Sharing," Wyn said quickly.

"Though that's a little awkward now that my brother is sharing a room with his boyfriend," Dafydd noted.

Wyn wanted to point out Hex was their boyfriend, but he couldn't. Instead he simply shot his other half an annoyed look

"When did you pick up a boyfriend?" John asked in surprise. "...Hex?"

That didn't surprise him a bit. Hex was a good kid. And he likely had a lot more in common with Wyn than some old fart like him.

"It's stupid, nymphs can't fall in love," 'Dafydd' huffed.

[petty_dabbler]

"Now that's bullshit," John snorted. "Anyone can fall in love. Love's the easiest thing in the world," he smiled, a bit of a romantic at heart.

Wyn seemed cheered by that, but Dafydd rolled his eyes.

"Nymphs aren't built for it though. Our blood demands we love many and often. Fleeting romance that humans would consider hollow."

"Well, good thing we're half human," Wyn snapped.

"Boys, I've been in love a hundred times. There's no better feeling. And it never lasts. It's a rare and precious thing to find a partner for life. But knowing you won't find forever isn't a reason to not do it at all," John said.

[prince_of_nymphs]

Dafydd huffed, but Wyn smiled a bit brighter.

"Yeah, exactly," Wyn agreed. "Besides, we can never know how things will play out, can we?"

John looked at the pair and huffed a soft laugh.

"Your brother's a cynic," he told Wyn with a gentle smile. "Either of you want a beer?"

"I should really get back to the dorm," Wyn said, glancing at Dafydd.

Dafydd smiled and shrugged. "I'd love a beer," he said, meeting John's Gaze.

Wyn glanced between the pair, this seemed like a terrible idea- But, he supposed it would be good to establish 'Dafydd' with a few people in case he needed to split himself again in the future.

"Right," Wyn said, "Uhm, just don't forget, we need to do that thing tomorrow..."

Dafydd waved him off. "Yeah, of course, I won't forget. Later brother."

John walked Wyn out, bid his goodbye, and closed the door. The light in his eyes and his soft smile gave away his fondness.

As he returned to Dafydd, the look vanished as he directed all his attention to the stanger.

"It's just lager," he said as he fetched the bottle. "Did you have a one trip here?"

"Mmm," Dafydd nodded. "I'm not sure how long I'll stay. Wyn doesn't seem keen to have me hanging around. Perhaps he's worried I'll steal his lover," he joked.

[petty_dabbler]

"It's possible. I'm sure Hex would be tempted by twins," John chuckled. H handed him a bottle, then settled on the sofa.

If he was Hex's age, he'd be tempted. John's own temptation was squashed by the thought of putting his back out.

Dafydd also seemed to be considering that temptation for a moment. Was it more or less weird if they weren't actually twins? He wasn't sure he cared. He and Wynn were far from a perfect split after all, they shared most feelings, but not all, it seemed. For example, Wyn was clearly smitten with Hex, but Dafydd couldn't see the appeal of a monogamous relationship with, well, anyone.

"Perhaps," he agreed. "Though the mechanics of all that might get a bit messy, Professor," he added with a purr.

What he'd shared with Wyn would go to the grave with him, so he hardly reacted to the purr. If Dafydd knew he'd slept with his brother then he'd have to say it. John never would.

"I don't know who else he's seeing," he shrugged. It was sort of the truth.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"No? I do," Dafydd smiled, inviting himself to sit. He could remember John's body, his kiss, his touch- And yet it also felt less like a memory and more like a film. He knew it, but he didn't feel as though he'd lived it, exactly.
