John left Fin and House to figure out what had happened. John knew his magic hadn't liked Fin poking around, not one bit, but he hadn't intended to hurt him. Felt like an asshole for that.

You home? Can I come over? he shot to Danny, then went to the stand outside A&E to get an uber back to his car.

Danny was in bed, the drugs and the sickness leaving him drained for the most part. He reached for the phone when it beeped,

Not good company right now, but you can come by if you want.

Give me an hour. Got to get back to my car

And it took just about an hour. He stopped at that deli to pick up some soup since he knew Danny was sick. When he arrived he knocked twice and tried the knob nd let himself in.

"Danny!" he called loudly. "S'me."

He closed the door with a bang to make sure he was heard, then looked around until he found Danny in bed.

"Wow, you look like shit, my friend."

Danny nodded, trying to sit up and then deciding he'd rather lay down.

"Such kind words."

"Not gonna lie to you," he shrugged. Lifting the carton to show, he added, "Brought you soup."

"Thanks, I don't think I can eat right now though," Danny admitted, curling up a little on his side. "Are you alright?"

"Am I ever alright?" John huffed. He took off his coat and slipped out of his shoes, then climbed on the bed.

"I just almost killed that Fin bloke on accident," he admitted. "He won't believe I didn't mean to hurt him."

"I punched him in the face once and he offered to bring me a fruit basket the other day," Danny yawned. "He's not good with grudges. ...How did you hurt him?" He asked.

"He was poking at my magic. And it was weird. So I gave a push back and he turned all white. Fell down. Went to A&E," he explained lowly.

Danny settled on his back so he could look at John, sitting up a bit and leaning back against the headboard.

"I don't really understand. Like he was harassing you?" he asked, needing it explained in full.

[petty_dabbler]

"Nah. Maybe. I don't know. His magic kept...touching my magic. I really can't explain it, I just felt it. And when I pushed back it, everything went sideways. I don't think he was trying to be annoying," he explained. Then sighed.

"In a while you should text Greg. I left him in A&E and Greg very subtly suggested I check in on you rather than telling me to fuck off outright."

"Greg doesn't need me checking in on him," Danny assured him. "He'll come by when he has time."

In the past he'd have worried about Greg and Fin together, but now... Well, Greg had said he loved him, and Danny believed him. If something happened with Fin, something happened. He had Greg's love, and that trumped all else.

"You think Flynn's alright?" he asked.

"I hope so. He'd got most of his coloured back when I left. That's hopeful," he said.

John groaned and sank into the pillow.

"His magic is really powerful. I don't think he knows just how powerful."

"I've never talked to him about it," Danny admitted. "Most of the time when we talk it's about... Things I know more about than him. He's young in a lot of ways, I guess. Just a kid at his core. Didn't even know he was queer until a few years ago- Or, at least wasn't ready to say he was."

It made him feel like an ass for lashing out at him so much, in retrospect.

"Hmm. Well, trust me, if he wasn't really fucking powerful he wouldn't have gotten knocked back so hard," he replied. Nodded as he talked because, yeah, he could kind of see that. Fin was an idiot, but he clearly wasn't stupid. He just didn't know very much.

"He doesn't seem powerful. He looks like a strong wind could knock him over," Danny noted, coughing a little and turning his head away from John until his throat was clear. "Did Greg look worried?"

"He did," he said. "He was doing his blood pressure when I left."

As he spoke, he watched Danny closely.

"It's really hanging on this time."

"Yeah," he said softly. "Yeah, but I'm going to be okay. I think Greg would say something if he thought I should be worried."

"I'd hope so since he's a doctor," he chuckled. It did put his fears at rest a little. Surely if he needed to be in care, Greg would make sure he got it.

"Has much been happening? Probably not, huh?"

"I've been sleeping mostly," Danny admitted. "I thought I'd be doing better by now, but- I guess not, huh?"

"It can take a long time to recover from the mildest stuff when you're positive," he said sympathetically.

"You can't magic me well?" Danny asked, only half joking.

[petty_dabbler]

"That's not in my skill set," he said. "But if you were bleeding, I could cauterize it. I guess that's something," John shrugged.

"I'll keep it in mind," Danny snorted.

[petty_dabbler]

"I'm better at breaking noses than fixing them," he said. He reached out and laid his arm around Danny, welcoming him closer if he'd like to come.

"You've been talking to him a lot? What prompted that?"

"Flynn? I dunno. It started out with him fussing over me, all worried about you being some psycho- But I, um... I read up on that producer who'd been harassing him, read about all these other actors coming forward about him, and... I dunno. I've been there, you know? Not in the public eye, but- I've had powerful men treat me like a toy. I guess I wanted to make sure he was okay. ...And I don't think he was, you know? Soon we were texting nearly once a day. Just chatting. Don't get me wrong, he drives me mad sometimes, but- I think it's because he's so much like me when I was younger. A fucking wreck."
