Did John think Nyx was going to volunteer his blood? No. He didn't think the pop star was even the right fae for the job, but Rain certainly hadn't been. He had faith he'd eventually find a fae that would do the trick.

To get to that fae, though, he'd do whatever he needed to. He wasn't going to just let Fox die. Painfully.

He had agreed to meet at a cafe that he'd never been to and didn't really fit in at. The baristas kept giving him looks as he sat against the window, watching people walk by.

Nyx had only come because Rain had asked him to, and even that had required a bit of insistence from his brother. Still, he was only a little late as he swaggered into the cafe, all eyes on him as he made his way to the counter and ordered the sweetest drink on the menu and a pastry.

The warlock was easy enough to pick out, and he took a seat across from the other man, tilting his head curiously as he looked him over.

"You smell like the back of a club I used to go to in Soho," he said, rather than 'hello'.

"I'll take that as a compliment. I've been to every shit hole in Soho and every one is a banger of a time," John replied with a cocky, lopsided grin.

He liked him immediately.

"Noted," Nyx replied with a purr, leaning back as his order was brought to the table, then offering the barista a charming smile and a tip.

Only when they were alone again did his full attention return to John. "So, my brother says you're looking for help from the fae?"

"I am," John nodded.

"I've got a friend with a nasty blood curse. Would have done him in, except he's got a bit of fae in him. Your brother suggested a transfusion but that was all the help he could give. You're the next on my path," he explained.

"How fae is he, exactly? And what kind?" Nyx asked, sipping his coffee.

[petty_dabbler]

"Not much and no clue," he replied. "Maybe an actual fae could tell? Point me in the right direction?"

He didn't dare hope, but he wasn't shy in asking.

"Do you have anything of his on you?" Nyx asked. Any sort of Magic mortal would hopefully have brought along a personal item. Nyx was not keen to follow this man home.

"As a matter of fact," he replied, pulling a scarf from his pocket.

"Will this work?"

[tempting_the_fates]

Nyx nodded, taking the scarf and giving it a sniff.

"You said he wasn't very fae. He's at least half, mother or father," he noted, inspecting the scarf and pulling a stray hair from it. It was too dark to be John's, and so he placed it on the table, casually waving a hand over it as he sipped his coffee. The hair started to curl, and Nyx studied it for a long moment.

"Most likely Seelie," he said. "Means you need seelie blood. Though a good alchemist could use any fae blood mixed with humans to make the right elixor. Then it just needs to be delivered straight to the bloodstream."

"Alright, sounds simple enough," John said. "Where do I go about finding a seelie?"

"In the fae realms, if you're an idiot seeking death," Nyx said, shaking his head and offering the scarf back. "I don't know any fae that would offer their blood for anything less than a very steep price. Blood magic is powerful, and it's dangerous to the one who offers theirs."

John only had one question, really.

"What price?"

"I couldn't say. I've never been asked for something so large. Could be your own blood- Which I'd advise against. Perhaps a child, or an organ. I couldn't really tell you that," Nyx admitted.

[petty_dabbler]

"Hmm...I could offer up both lungs," he quipped, to himself mostly.

"No chance I could find one toddling around London, hmm?" he asked, no hope in the question.

[tempting_the_fates]

"Oh, erm... Maybe," Nyx said awkwardly. "Look, I think it's very nobel that you want to help your friend, but- It really is something you ought to think on."

"I already thought on it, love," John grinned. "Don't matter what the cost is."

[tempting_the_fates]

"Must be a very good friend," Nyx noted.

[petty_dabbler]

"He deserves a life. And one without pain," John said, a softer note to his voice.

[tempting_the_fates]

"You in love with him?" Nyx asked bluntly.

[petty_dabbler]

"Nah," he chuckled. "If I loved him, he'd be dead already."

[tempting_the_fates]

"Huh," Nyx replied, finishing his coffee. "Well, I don't know what else I can tell you."

[petty_dabbler]

"You and Rain have been helpful," John replied with a nod. "I mean, he kind of had to..."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Nyx asked with a frown. "How do you even know my brother?"

[petty_dabbler]

"Your dad sent someone to collect him. Or you. I got the impression that it didn't matter which," he said. "He didn't seem to want to go, so I got the bloke to leave."

[tempting_the_fates]

"Well, that's interesting," Nyx frowned. "Rain failed to mention that."
