petty_dabblerJohn had picked up fish and chips and was keeping them warm in the oven. He'd taken a shower and shaved and was settled in with a beer and an old sci fi show he'd liked when he was a lad.
The whole time he went through the motions, John's stomach was a knot. He didn't like the idea of Alwyn in a crowd alone. A loud crowd. He'd almost hoped to find the man had beaten him home...but no.
He was half dozing when he heard the door and perked right up.

And then he went quiet a moment before reaching for a cigarette. This was getting into dangerous waters. He hoped Alwyn would think of something else.
