"Wait...you think you're not romantic?" John asked, moving back a little to look at him. "Your romance is quiet, love. But it's there. You're romantic all the time. When you touch my hand when we walk. The way you say I love you and my heart might burst just hearing it. You let me take food first. Maybe it's not flowers and dancing in the rain, but that doesn't mean it's not there. Hmm?"

John rolled toward him, pushing Alwyn onto his back so John could kiss him properly. He held his face for a moment and was smiling when the kiss broke.

Reaching out, Alwyn touched his cheek, stroking it lightly.

"You're so kind to me," he said softly. "Thank you for that."

"I could say the same," he smiled softly.

Affection warmed his gaze.

"You're kinder to me than anyone has ever been. My whole life. My whole life I wished for someone who loved me. As I am. Rough. Imperfect. Thank you for that."

"I think you're lovely," he said softly. "I adore you."

"That's the most romantic thing I've ever heard," he said, leaning in to kiss him again. He squirmed as close as he could get, his cock growing hot and heavy trapped against Alwy's hip.

Alwyn nodded slightly, trusting John to take care. He always did after all.

When he said slow, he meant it. He understood how quickly Alwyn could get overwhelmed.

"I'm going down on you," he warned softly. John shifted so he could kiss his way down Alwyn's torso, giving him plenty of time to ready himself.

John stopped and lifted his head to look at him.

"Shh, it's alright," he said. "Don't be sorry for what you don't like. Is there something you'd rather?"

John kissed him over his heart, then pushed himself up to eye level.

"It's alright, love. It's not a quiz. All I want is to make you feel good."

"Sometimes I don't even know if I like sex," Alwyn admitted. "But I want to be near you. To touch you... To be touched."

That made him pause and he backed off a bit more.

"I don't make you feel like you have to...do I?" he asked, upset at the thought.

"Oh. Alright," he nodded, moving closer again. He stole a soft kiss, then rested his head beside him.

He smoothed his hand down Alwyn's stomach, moving lower.

"We can just touch," he said quietly.

Alwyn nodded, reaching over to touch John's chest.

"I like how you feel," he said. "The texture of your skin. The warmth."

"You're soft," John replied. "Softer than anything I know. I could touch you for hours."

He kissed his shoulder and then slipped his arm around him to simply hold him close for a moment.

Alwyn curled up even closer, settling against John's chest as his fingers smoothed up over his shoulders and down his arms.

He lay like that for ages, until eventually his hands started to move lower and his touch became a bit more sure and intimate.
